System Of A Down – Chop Suey!

Chop Suey! is the first single from System of a Down’s second album, Toxicity. The album, released in August of 2001, earned the band one grammy nomination, which they failed to win. The original title of the song was going to be “Suicide”, but the name was changed due to unknown reasons. In some versions of the song, such as some pressings of the album version, Serj can be heard saying “We’re rolling suicide.”

Wake up-
(Wake up)-
Grab a brush and put a little make-up-
Hide the scars to fade away the shake-up-
(Hide the scars to fade away the…)-
Why’d you leave the keys upon the table?-
Here you go create another fable-
You wanted to-
Grab a brush and put a little makeup-
You wanted to-
Hide the scars to fade away the shake-up-
You wanted to-
Why’d you leave the keys upon the table?-
You wanted to-
I don’t think you trust-
In… My… Self-righteous suicide-
I… Cry… When angels deserve to die-
Wake up-

You wanted to-
Why’d you leave the keys upon the table?-
You wanted to-
I don’t think you trust-
In… My… Self-righteous suicide-
I… Cry… When angels deserve to die-
In, my, Self-righteous suicide-
I, cry, when angels deserve to die-
Father (father)-
Father (father)-
Father (father)-
Father (father)-
Father, into your hands I commend my spirit-
Father, into your hands-
Why have you forsaken me?-
In your eyes forsaken me-
In your thoughts forsaken me-
In your heart forsaken me, oh-
Trust in my self-righteous suicide-
I cry when angels deserve to die-
In my self-righteous suicide-
I cry when angels deserve to die-
