When Gaga first became a big thing, I had the usual contempt that I have for whatever is popular at the time.
When she did her crazy costumes, I sneered at her obvious and lame attempts to get attention.
It took awhile for me to realize – she’s genuinely crazy, and doesn’t apologize, and she’s a hard working pro entertainer.
She cases her dreams, likes what she likes, and if you don’t like it, whatever.
That genuine side to her won me over. I can’t deny it now, that Lady Gaga is cool. Mad respect.
