When I was 17 years old, my boyfriend (who is now my husband) was getting ready to deploy overseas. The night before he left, he took me into his living room then put on this song and danced me around his living room while he sang it to. Many, many years later, the best man at our wedding sang that song for our bride and groom dance. It’s been 30 years and six kids and that is still one of my favorite memories.
It nearly broke my heart today when I learned Kenny Rogers passed away yesterday. RIP, Kenny, you meant more to the world than I think even you knew. Thank you for the memories.
