Gary Stewart She’s Acting Single
Gary sings what all us men have felt at one time or another. Anyone familiar with Gary Stewart and his tragic ending, KNOWS that when this guy sang love songs, he sang them from the heart… I met him briefly in Oklahoma City at a dinner showplace called “Henson’s” circa 1983 and was struck by how friendly and real this guy was. Gary, you will not be forgotten!
“She’s Actin’ Single (I’m Drinkin’ Doubles)” is a song written by Wayne Carson, and recorded by American country music singer Gary Stewart. It was released in March 1975 as the third and final single from the album Out of Hand. The song was Stewart’s third top ten hit on the country chart and his only song to hit number one. The single stayed at number one for a single week and spent a total of nine weeks within the top 40.
Even though I’m 26 years old my dad has showed me a lot of Gary Stewart’s music my dad seen him in concert before he passed away and it sucks now because my dad has passed away on May 3rd so I know that he’s up there with all the old legends songs like these will bring back memories
Lycris
I’ve seen men look at her before
And they think, I don’t see them
I’d like to think, it makes me proud
But I’m only foolin’ me
I know she’ll be lookin’ back
The minute I’m not there
While she pours herself on some stranger
I pour myself a drink somewhere
She’s actin’ single
I’m drinkin’ doubles
I hide my pain
I drown my troubles
My heart is breaking
Like the tiny bubbles
She’s actin’ single
I’m drinkin’ doubles
I know what she plans to do
But I don’t know where or when
If I ask, who that stranger was
She’ll just say, an old friend
I’m not weak, I tell myself
I stay because I’m strong
The truth is, I’m not man enough
To stop her from doin’ me wrong
She’s actin’ single
I’m drinkin’ doubles
I hide my pain
I drown my troubles
My heart is breakin’
Like the tiny bubbles
She’s actin’ single
I’m drinkin’ doubles
She’s actin’ single
I’m drinkin’ doubles
I hide my pain
